Reading to your baby is proven that it can help your baby in all kinds of different ways!
It is proven that reading can help fine motor skills, communicating, imagination, learning to talk, and so much more!
Having a designated story time with your baby is one of the great way to apply this.
A really fun signal that you can do with your baby, that lets them know that it is time for bed, is reading them bed time stories.

bed time stories for infants!
1. On The Night You We’re Born by Nancy Tillman
On the night you were born “the moon stayed up till morning“, “polar bears danced”, “the stars peeked in to see you”, and the wind whispered “Life will never be the same”.
This is a wonderful sweet filled book to read to your precious babe.
This book conveys to your babe just how special and unique they are.
It shows them how much the world and so many people love them, and this choice will surely comfort them to sleep.
2. Night Night, Jungle by Amy Parker
Oh you know how babies love animals! They will for sure love this nighttime book featuring all the different wild animals!
This book features such colorful imagery, even tiny babes will love each page!
This book shows “how” each animal’s mommy or daddy tucks them in for bedtime while you say goodnight to each jungle animal. All the while having catchy rhymes throughout.
Then at the end of the book, it goes so far to mention God, which I love. Saying how God loves all his creatures, and you say goodnight to God as well!
Especially if you run a Christian household, your babe will love diving into this book before it’s time to drift off to dreams!
3. Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site by Sherri Duskey Rinker
This is a great book to read to all children, not just boys, girls can love big machines too!
This book goes through each construction machine as they finish their hard work and tuck in for bed, it’s an absolutely
adorable read!
They go through all the machines from crane truck to bulldozer.
This is also a great learning book because it tells what each machine is finishing up, and what they work hard at during the day.
It even goes so far to have onomatopoeias with each vehicle! Making this super fun for your child!
As each machine drifts off to sleep, your baby will love to drift off as well, while they dream with wheels!
4. Steam Train, Dream Train by Sherri Duskey Rinker
I know! Another book by Sherri, but she is a great children’s writer!
This book with each page shows the circus animals loading up each of there items and themselves into their circus train.
From elephants, monkeys, and giraffes! Oh my!
This book is filled with such wonderful rhyming and illustrations, guaranteed to grab the attention of you child, even your older ones!
It goes through each animal as they tuck into some literal beds on the train from a
hard days work.
On the last page, it is shown that the train throughout the book is a toy train in a little child’s room, and the interpretation of this book can be endless!
This will have your little one wondering about the ending and dreaming about trains
all night long!
5. Good Night, Little Blue Truck by Alice Schertle
This book is a another story from the Little Blue Truck series of children‘s books.
This book is great for children’s all ages because of the great illustractions, the fun animals, and the sweet blue truck!
This story starts out with nighttime approaching, but who can sleep
with a scary storm?
One by one, all the farm animals seek the safety and comfort of the little blue truck.
After a while, the storm subsides and Little Blue takes each one of his friends home so they can drift off to sleep!
This book features great
onomatopoeias as well!
Surely to drift off your child going “beep! beep! Shhh..”
6. Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown
This is a classic great bedtime story
loved by many!
In the home of the great green room, a bunny is ready for bed!
One by one, the little bunny says goodnight with adorable rhyming to everything
in the room.
From the mittens and the kittens, to the clocks and his socks, to the three little bears
sitting on chairs.
